3M Scotch-Brite Radial Bristle Discs, 2″ diameter Pumice 1,200 grit/pink
These unique discs from 3M are a new type of abrasive that is superior to sandpaper, flap wheels, or other types of sanders, brushes, or abrasive wheels. Their flexible bristles can reach into areas with detail and irregular, curved, or flat surfaces. Woodcarvers will appreciate how well they remove the “fuzzies” without harming any of the underlying detail.
In the dental lab, these discs are excellent for cleaning, pre-polishing, and polishing of metals and acrylics. They are especially good on hard to polish materials like titanium and valplast.
Coarser grits can be used to carve, grind and texture, while finer grits will smooth, burnish and polish.
The 3M Cubitron and aluminum oxide grains embedded throughout the plastic bristles make them very long lasting.
Individual discs are stacked to make a brush. Depending on the application, you will want to stack between three and six discs. Be sure to closely follow the directions in the package so that the discs are stacked and mounted properly onto a hand piece, bench lathe or angle grinder.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. For Use in Hand pieces: Use with A-M30 and A-M31 Mandrels when mounting discs directly into Flex Shaft Hand pieces. 30,000 RPM Max Speed. 5,000 to 18,000 RPM Recommended Operating Speed.
2. For Use on Bench Lathe: Use with A-4561 and A-4562 Spindle Adapters. 5,000 to 7,000 RPM Max Speed.
3. For Use on Angle Grinder Attachment: Use with A-69212 Short Hub to mount 1-2 discs or A-69212L Long Hub to mount 3-4 discs onto Angle Grinder.
